First 'Steamjunk' Concept Art!

Concept art for 'Robo Wukong' (Steamjunk).

The first concept art for Steamjunk is complete! 'Robo Wukong' (tentative name!) is a toy robot based on the monkey king from Chinese folktale, Journey To The West. He can fly, has grippin' hands, and comes complete with festive outfit. Ask your parent or guardian for one today!

... Or alternatively, just follow the Data West socials for more information on the game, as it's released. "Super fighting robots, with a steampunk twist!"

Rowdy Robot Rumble!

Okay, I really, honestly have finished with the logo dump now. More upcoming fighting game action from your friends at Data West - this time, it's a steampunk re-imagining of the 'robot battler' genre - Project Steamjunk. The aesthetic we're going for is 'olde-worlde MedaBots had a baby with Pokémon, and it was born wearing knuckledusters'.

... As usual, keep it locked to our socials for more information, as and when - and thank you for your interest in our games!

Bogus Beast Battler!

Another project that we're wokring on at the moment is Kemono Project, a love letter to Raizing's legendary fighter, Bloody Roar. It features a cast of warriors, who transform into were-beasts to do battle with each other; I know that sounds a bit 'familiar', but I can't emphasize enough how much I love the Hudson Soft original. In fact, a working title for the game was Bloody Roar Flat, referencing its' 2D nature - if I had my way, this would literally be Bloody Roar with sprites, instead of polygons.

... Anyway, like pretty much all the Data West projects that have been announced recently, Kemono Project is on the stove here at DW Towers; we've got a lot to juggle at the moment, so I'm going to stop adding plates to spin now. Anyway, as usual, for more information on this (and other DW games!), please follow our socials.

And then, there was this. Sega aren't the only people who love this franchise!

Platform King!

The Data West freight train doesn't stop! This is the logo for Platform King, a fighting game featuring characters from classic arcade platformers. More of a Marvel Vs. Capcom than a Super Smash Brothers, Platform King will bring together fighters from video game history in a no-holds-barred, 100% unofficial 2D fighting extravaganza. Coming soon from your friends at Data West!

'Zombie-Chan'

Concept art of 'Zombie-Chan' (Warriors Of The End).

The first concept art for Data West's latest fighting game project, Warriors Of The End, is finished! This is 'Zombie-Chan' (placeholder name!), an undead martial arts prodigy. Now, you may be wondering... if she's so great at martial-arts, how come someone killed her? Well, that's a good question.

We've actually got concept ideas for two characters at the moment; there's 'Zombie-Chan', who you're looking at now, but also 'Miss Teri', a firearm-wielding, sharp dressing lady who came about because I really want to draw muzzle flash and ejected cartridges (also, I have recently re-watched The Matrix, and I happen to think that Agent Smith is cooler than Neo and Morpheus combined).

Next up will be concept art for 'Miss Teri', followed by pixel art for both characters.

Warriors Of The End!

Logo for Warriors Of The End, a fighting game in development.

"In 203X, it's all over. After nuclear war decimates the world, its' cities lie in rubble, their populace reduced to a handful of resilient souls who survived, despite the odds stacked against them. Those who remain, struggle to survive against the Gamma Children; twisted denizens of the night, bodies irradiated beyond repair, who seek to make the world their own.

... Eventually, a solution is proposed; an all-out battle royale, to see who will lead the worlds' last remaining survivors. Fighters of all descriptions flock to Neo Shinjuku, Japan's only remaining ward, to compete for dominance - each with their own reason for winning.

Will the tournament usher in a new era for humanity, or is it the dawn of a new ruling class? ... Time to find out!"

Coming in 202X to a PC near you!
